Global Homicide

This month the punk rock band Pearl Jam released its latest album and among the songs is Worldwide Suicide, a commentary on the war against terrorism and the tragedy of seeing lives lost in an otherwise futile cause. Now being a Pearl Jam fan, when I first heard of the song's title my mind jumped to the thought of the even greater Global Homicide which is being perpetrated against the unborn and which some would call worldwide suicide in lieu of the fact that as the population ages there will be greater emphasis on self-sufficiency since there will be fewer people to look after them and the rest of the country.
