AngelQueen posted a report on a Russian Orthodox Church which had succumbed to fire and one astute commentator said that today it is only the schismatics, in one form or another, who are actually maintaining doctrinal, liturgical and moral traditions of the past. However one might argue that is exactly what you would expect from a schismatic since they are a law unto themselves. Personally I prefer to maintain these traditions while trying to understand the modern Church's belief and practice.
