To Anyone With Concerns For My Spiritual and Theological Welfare
I hope you don't find any material here which suggests I am too much of a Traditional rite zealot. I just believe sacredness, solemnity, tradition, transcendence and truth are essential to the Mass, and the Traditional rite provides all of these. Further I strongly disagree with those who consider the sacrifice and sacrament of the Mass a mere social construction rather a divine institution, so that it can be 'adapted' or 'altered' according to personal tastes or the social 'zeitgeist'. At the same time I do agree the Mass should be accessible to the faithful but this should first and foremost be through proper liturgical formation, so they can understand the words of Newman which I have previously quoted.
PS. I do still attend the Novus Ordo Missae at my canonical parish, which would suggest I have not gone schismatic.
