Pro Sanctis et Fidelibus

The latest Commentary has an interesting article on a Catholic cathedral in Norway, which was appropriated by the Lutherans in the 16th century but avoided the fate of so many cathedrals and churches that remained in Catholic hands. Last year the Traditional Latin Mass was celebrated in the cathedral and two other churches, which have also retained their original architecture and art. As the Fathers say, hopefully the Lutherans will extend the invitation this year as well and perhaps in the future consider making this more than an annual event.

While the Church in Australia might not be perfect, at least it is better than in Canada where it has been thoroughly secularised. There priests and religious openly criticize the Magisterium on family and life issues, Catholic newspapers push a Marxist agenda, Catholic educators encourage students to be dissenters, or worse reformers and revolutionaries, and bishops simply turn a blind eye. Let us pray for the social reign of the Sacred Heart, which once adorned the flag of Quebec.
